Navy Memorial and World War II Memorial Visit
Bill Bradfield
June, 2006
Recently, Bill Bradfield visited the Navy Memorial and the World War II Memorial in Washington, D.C. and shared his pictures with us.
"Our son (Cdr. Ted Bradfield, USN) and I visited the Memorial and were greatly impressed by the material exhibited. The Navy Memorial is in downtown Washington and, while impressive, lacks sufficient room to do justice to the material. The Lone Sailor statue and the impressive surrrounding Seven Seas mural and mosaic are terrific.
"The World War Two Memorial is worth a visit all by itself.
Much larger than we had expected and being visited by great numbers of people---of whom very few, sadly, were veterans of that awful (and beautiful) era, when America had a goal we all believed in....
"You would be proud. We all should see it...we paid for it in many ways."--Bill
