Time To Get Ready for Christmas!

November 1st, 2013

Yes, Halloween is over and so I can now display my Christmas house to the neighborhood and officially proclaim that the season is here! I have the inside of my house already decorated (took two full weeks!) and I will put out the yard and front porch decorations tomorrow. Then I will have a “full burn” (all light strings inside and out turned on, candles of every kind, light-up ornaments, holiday-scented potpourri and Christmas music)!

While I was waiting for Halloween to be over, I did this. Now, what was once an ugly eyesore is now a wonderful new addition to my collection of seasonal birdhouses!

I stripped all the decorations off of it and base-coated it. When that was dry I applied hot glue to the roof (I used about 20 sticks to get this look!) and let that dry. Then I affixed some decorations from my ‘pull-aparts’ box (things that have fallen off other Christmas decorations over the years) with the hot glue gun. The last step was to brush on a little white glue to the roof and pedestal and sprinkle glitter on it.

Viola! From ugly to beautiful in two hours!!

Hope you’re in the Christmas spirit, I know I am. Happy Holidays, All!!!
